Bruno Roberti was born in 1981 in São José dos Campos, located in the countryside of São Paulo state. He started his studies of acoustic guitar when he was 8 years old, and was brought up in a very musical home: during the meals and daily small talks, it was quite common listening from the record player artists like Elis Regina, Gilberto Gil, João Bosco, among other great names of the Brazilian popular music.
At the age of 19, he moves to São Paulo city and graduates in Communication Studies. He makes a career out of Marketing, occupation which having not brought him any realization, only increased, as time went by, a growing desire: drop everything to dedicate himself to music.
In 2011, he finally leaves the corporate life and starts recording his debut album after an invitation from Dudinha Lima, a talented bass player and producer, who has played in all universe of the Brazilian popular music – from Banda Black Rio to Gal Costa, from Seu Jorge to Lobão. From then on, the album Lar started to emerge.
The album features more than special participants such as Seu Jorge and the master of harmony Toninho Horta, as well as other remarkable Brazilian musicians. There are 11 authorial songs, from which three of them are in partnership with the poet and songwriter Paulo César de Carvalho. Roberti composes with equal naturalness sambas and bossas, folks or foxtrots. His lyrics translate different aspects of his biography, from his search for doing something he loves to good-humoured quotidian themes. The sonority from the album is inspired by the old school Brazilian popular music from the artists he used to listen to in his parents’ house in childhood. Not by chance, Lar (“Home”) is the tune which opens and names the album, whose lyric reveals its greatest cocoon: one’s own heart as a place to live and follow one’s vocation.
Totally independent, Lar was officially launched in 11/11/2013. At last, Bruno Roberti, who has made his heart a home for his vocation, is ready to make the road his residence.
